MyMvelope.com is an online application that allows you to partition your short-term savings into envelopes (or sub-accounts) so that you know how much you have for various things.
The easiest way to explain this is with an example:
Let's say you have a bank account that you're using to save for holidays but you want to save for both local quick holidays such as camping trips and international holidays every year or two.
If you just put your money into the bank account, it's vry difficult to know how much you have saved for each type of holiday. Once a long weekend comes and you go out on a camping trip, you've taken some money out and it's now even more difficult to know how much you've saved for your big international trip. This is where MyMvelope.com comes in.
You create a MyMvelope.com account and inside you create two envelopes, one for local holidays and one for international holidays. Every time you put money into the bank account, you also make an allocation on MMvelope.com into each envelope and MyMvelope.com keeps track of how much you've saved for each.
When you go on your camping trip, you simply go into the local holiday envelope and enter how much money you've taken out and everything else is kept in check.
